Ron Mariotti, N.D. is a licensed naturopathic physician. After completing his pre-medical studies at the University of Washington and graduating with a BS in Zoology and a BA in English Literature, he graduated from Bastyr University with his doctorate in naturopathic medicine in 2004. Prior to his graduation from naturopathic medical school he practiced as a licensed massage therapist. Dr. Mariotti's passion is to educate his patients and students and to encourage hope in the face of difficult circumstances. He believes the path to wellness is navigated through the terrain of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual landscapes. Dr. Mariotti has over 18 years of clinical experience working with Visceral Manipulation (VM) and has studied extensively with J. P. Barral, the originator of Visceral Manipulation. In his clinical practice he focuses on the integration of visceral manipulation within the naturopathic model of health care. Dr. Mariotti has been leading the only VM study group in the Pacific Northwest for the past 9 years and is a certified teacher of Visceral Manipulation for The Barral Institute. The Barral Institute is the research and training institute created by world-renowned Jean-Pierre Barral, DO, RPT, the developer of Visceral Manipulation, Neural Manipulation and Global Joint Treatment. Dr. Mariotti also teaches the visceral manipulation curriculum, authorized by The Barral Institute, to the naturopathic students at Bastyr University, one of the only six accredited naturopathic medical schools. Dr. Mariotti is an active member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), the national organization that supports the naturopathic profession. He is also a member of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP), the professional organization for the state of Washington and the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). In addition to authoring the recently published textbook, Visceral Manipulation of the Abdomen; A Natural Medicine Perspective, which is volume one of a three-volume set, he is currently working on volume's two and three; Visceral Manipulation of the Pelvis; A Natural Medicine Perspective, and Visceral Manipulation of the Thorax; A Natural Medicine Perspective. |
